The Aftermath of Hurricane Sandy:

Maryland Governor Marin O'Malley warned yesterday that "people will die in this storm." Tragically he was right. Sixteen are dead; an estimated 7.5 million people are without power this morning. Hurricane Sandy has had a devastating impact in our nation. The reality is that Christians have to do as Paul said and awake from our sleep we are in. (Romans 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to AWAKE out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.)  The reality of the world we live in today, is that God is the only One with enough power, with enough authority, to cause major bodies of water to move itself upon our nation. Just as that is true, God is the only One with enough authority and power to eternally save a person. We must realize that we are not the one's who have the power to save, however, we have been commissioned by God to tell people about the salvation He brings. (Luke 14:23 Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.) As Christians today, we have another opportunity to show that we actually believe what we say we believe and truly be the hands and feet of Jesus. People are hurting today and could use some encouragement. How will you encourage someone else today?

Support from LBC!!!

So, yesterday evening, Amy and I stood before the congregation of Lindenwald Baptist Church to ask them to support us financially in this new ministry endeavor. It was a very emotional time for us all. We truly felt loved in this church and we are very thankful for the fact that so many people are behind us in planting this brand new, life-giving church! I am overwhelmed by what I believe God is going to do. I know that my sending church is in my corner and is willing to help me in any way that they can. I am excited about becoming partners with them in ministry for the kingdom's sake. There is not a doubt in my mind that they will reap blessings in this church because of their willingness to support us in this endeavor. Matthew 6:33 says, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." My prayer is that God heaps an abundance of blessings upon Lindenwald Baptist Church because of their willingness to seek the kingdom first. What a blessing they have been!

Coming January 1, 2013!

My family and I are nine weeks away from sacrificing everything we have to go follow Jesus! It is our desire to see a revolution take place in McKinney, Texas. I believe with all of my heart that God has called us to plant Revolution Church. However, I will say that I think this is the hardest thing that God has ever asked me to do. I am leaving an amazing job that I have worked at for six years to be obedient to my Lord. I will be forsaking my income and my environment to follow Jesus. I will be moving 16 1/2 hours away from my family to do this. That truly is the hardest part about this whole endeavor. I am currently living in their basement because we sold our house in 23 days! This is a very bittersweet time in our lives. We are really struggling with leaving everything, but strangely enough, we are super excited about this next chapter in our lives. Following God, although the right thing to do, is not always the easiest. We just want to make an impact in our generation for the cause of Christ!

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. We just want to keep God first in our lives at all times.

2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight: One of the greatest things I have learned since endeavoring to church plant is that God is my source. I will put my trust in Him for all things.
